MatGen does not use generative AI. It uses a hybrid symbolic/mechanistic ontology that is curated and schema-based.

Any and all logic is explicit and traceable. The system gives you a structure that reinforces your thought process rather than replacing it.

Everything is an entity. A book, a song, a chapter, an image, a document. Everything.

Entities have schemas. Schemas themselves are entities. Entities are versioned. Versions are entities themselves.

Nothing is hidden in an opaque layer. Nothing is abstracted away for convenience. When you look at the system, you see what is actually there.

MatGen goes to the essence of things and allows for infinite, logical expansion.

In most systems, a link is a pointer. It has no identity. It cannot be dated, disputed, verified, or qualified. It cannot itself be the subject of another relationship.

In this system, even relationships are entities. They have a type, a history, an author, an access policy. You can see that a relationship was established on a certain date, by a certain person. You can see that a relationship was later disputed, or verified, or retracted.

When you change something, the previous state remains. When you revert, the change you made is still in the history.

You will never open a document and find that it is not what you left. You will never wonder when a line changed, or who changed it, or why. The answer is always in the record.

MatGen is designed to grow without slowing down, without collapsing under its own weight, and without losing coherence as it expands. Content-addressed storage means identical content is stored once. Symlinks mean relationships cost nothing. Caching means frequently-used views open instantly. Copy-on-write means the filesystem itself deduplicates the rest.

You can start with a single note and end with a lifetime of work, and the system will still open as fast as it did on day one.

Write a book, and the system can produce the manuscript, the EPUB, the print-ready PDF, the product page drawn from the cover and metadata, a set of social media posts assembled from selected excerpts, a leaflet for a reading, a press kit from the author bio and reviews.

Write a song, and the system can export to every format your distributor wants, produce sheet music personalised for each musician in the ensemble, generate the setlist for a show, prepare the liner notes, and assemble the streaming metadata.

When you need to work on something, MatGen reconstitutes the format needed by the software

Versioning, access control, documentation, project management, notifications, and history are inherent to MatGen, and fully automated.

Documentation writes itself. The system uses natural language processing to read the files you have created and generate documentation from them — deterministically, from your data, without a model guessing at what you meant. Every entity, every schema, every relationship, every rule contributes to a description that stays in step with the work.

You do not need to remember to commit. You do not need to file a ticket to grant someone access. You do not need to write documentation separately from the work it describes. You do not need to update a spreadsheet to track what stage a project is in.
